Workshop News
Night Owl Quiltlers hold in-house workshops, conducted by our talented members. Some are also hosted by popular quilters and artists. Workshops are very popular with members seeking inspiration from others. Others like to be put out of their comfort zone and all enjoy the company of fellow Club members.
April/May 2020 - Petunia Quilt
Although we aren't able to currently meet, our Workshop Coordinator, Sue has been busy organising a remote workshop for those looking for a project. This will be a charity quilt with participants contributing a few blocks towards the quilt.
For those participating, Sue has sent out instructions. Photo to the left is Part One of the project. Thanks Jan for sending your photo of 2 stems.

July 2019 - Jelly Roll Race
Approximately 10 Night Owlers attended the Jelly Roll Race where fabric was cut into 2.5 inch strips of 2.5, then joined end to end. The entire length is then folded in half and re-joined several times to make a quilt top. Thanks to Maggie for providing the beautiful liberty fabric used for this project. Thanks also to Julie, Susan M and Sue B for putting this workshop together. Everyone enjoyed the experience and was amazed at how quickly the top can be put together. |
March 2019. Origami Market Bag Workshop.
SIMPLE CURVE WORKSHOP
This highly successful workshop used the Magic Curve Ruler, held in March 2016. Overall more than half the Night Owl membership learnt the techniques. Congratulations and thank you to Julie Criss for organising and teaching the workshop: she put in many hours of preparation to ensure it all ran smoothly. Julie has since purchased a Mini Curve Ruler to produce similar effects on a smaller scale, Eg. to produce a very attractive Christmas Tree table runner. |
