Wendy Williams Workshop 25 June 2022 A big thank you to Lyn for entering our Club into the Eurobodalla Council's Healthy Communities and Recovery Grant. The grant was used to host a Wendy Williams Introduction to Wool Applique workshop. The time went so quickly with all 16 of us enjoying our time with Wendy. Thank you Wendy for your inspiration, hints and tips on embroidery and introducing your beautiful work to us. |

Charity Workshop 30 November 2021 with Lyn
On the 30th November a small group of enthusiastic sewers participated in a machine appliqué workshop where we explored what our machines can do and how to use specific stitches to machine appliqué a flower.
We ended up with everyone completing their block and some even machine quilted an echo design to complete the block. These will be joined together as quilt as you go at a future meeting.
It was a lovely casual morning; everyone happily chatted away and enjoyed each other’s company. Well done to all the ladies who attended. Lyn.
Julie also commented ‘The Workshop was excellent, and I learnt so much about my machine as well as appliqué.’

July 2019 - Jelly Roll Race
Approximately 10 Night Owlers attended the Jelly Roll Race where fabric was cut into 2.5 inch strips of 2.5, then joined end to end. The entire length is then folded in half and re-joined several times to make a quilt top. Thanks to Maggie for providing the beautiful liberty fabric used for this project. Thanks also to Julie, Susan M and Sue B for putting this workshop together. Everyone enjoyed the experience and was amazed at how quickly the top can be put together. |
March 2019. Origami Market Bag Workshop.
SIMPLE CURVE WORKSHOP
This highly successful workshop used the Magic Curve Ruler, held in March 2016. Overall more than half the Night Owl membership learnt the techniques. Congratulations and thank you to Julie Criss for organising and teaching the workshop: she put in many hours of preparation to ensure it all ran smoothly. Julie has since purchased a Mini Curve Ruler to produce similar effects on a smaller scale, Eg. to produce a very attractive Christmas Tree table runner. |
